About

I'm a seasoned guitarist and educator with over four decades of professional experience spanning performance, recording, and individualized instruction. My musical career includes more than 15 years as a working artist, writing, recording, and performing original, alternative music with A Western Front (Los Gatos) and Neo Geo (Sacramento). During this period, a music video produced with Neo Geo received regular airplay on MTV Basement Tapes.

I have performed at many of California’s most respected original-music venues, including The Fillmore in San Francisco, Whisky a Go Go and Troubadour in Los Angeles, as well as the Whole Earth Festival at UC Davis. My formal musical studies include a focused year of jazz guitar at the University of Utah, adding a disciplined theoretical framework to my extensive real-world experience.

I offer guitar instruction on both electric and acoustic instruments. My stylistic foundation lies in rock, blues, grunge/alternative, and singer-songwriter traditions, allowing me to guide students through both expressive performance and stylistic authenticity.

My teaching is defined by a student-centered approach. Each curriculum is carefully tailored to the individual, combining foundational techniques, essential music theory and an emphasis on the student’s personal interests and goals. Lessons emphasize thoughtful practice, musical confidence, and long-term artistic development.
