About

One thing that has worked for me as an artist , is to be flexible and open to new ways to be creative. I have developed an attitude of being of service. Helping an individual or an organization to manifest their creative vision. I have studied many different artistic finishes/ faux , architectural, and fine art, at College, Schools and privately. I learned the art of set painting in Santa Fe New Mexico, Scenic painting, with the Sonoran Theatre group in Tucson, Az. Studied , the art of sign painting, and work with Designers, and Foundations. My latest interest is in Mural work, what I call Public art, doing art that you are hired to do, with a guarantee of making money. That many can enjoy for free. You can amass a huge amount of art pieces , that don't sell...So being flexible and not all ego'd out about your work, that will help put bread on the table. It's not selling out either. I also believe in contributing something uplifting or inspiring with my art.....There are many markets to choose from to monetize your art, you just have to be open to them. Find ways where your art can ad to the environment you live in. I've been doing Art in one form or another since the 1970's....Professionally since then...I guess I have a Zen approach to art. Going with the flow of what Life is presenting...and Creating in the Now. Allowing progress to Organically develop, as in contrast to having an exact strategy...and pursueing it ....In fact, more always happens than I could ever Imagine....In Santa Few New Mexico 1986 , a friend was a set carpenter on the Movie set, I was there and without even showing them my portfolio, I was hired. I had learned the art of Sign Painting in Venice Beach years previously. That's exactly what they needed...Someone who could paint signs for this Western town, for the movie"Indepenence"' Circa 1986.

I enjoy, using a brush and the vibration of each color.

I enjoy evolving as an artist, doing new challenging projects,

And traveling to do art.

Having a gift and using it, is very rewarding.

How the art I'm creating contributes to people's inspiration.

I have painted Murals in Las Vegas with an art broker...at the Alladin Casino in 2006, in the indoor Mall.

I started digging art in High School, and was voted 2nd best Artist in Holbrook High School, Holbrook , Ma., in my graduating class of 1974.I put together a Portfolio consisting of Realistic Pencil drawings, Portraits, Still Life, and was excepted at Boston University and received a Scholorship. Went to Westfield State College as an Art Major, and completed 2 years there. My Family moved to Palo Alto Ca. in 1976...I continued study's at San Jose State, and De Anza College in the Bay area... Studied privately with Colorist Michael Linstrom in Campbell,Ca. Learned the art of Oil Painting on canvas...did a bunch of Landscapes and Oceanscapes. In the Impressionistic form. At that time I was exhibiting and selling my paintings....1979'...into the 80's...I moved around a lot, which gave me more options , than staying in one place..

I ended up in Venice Beach and a friend and I had a Sign Company..back when signs were painted by hand. We taught ourselves. I was good with a brush.

Mid 80's , I got invited by a friend to come to Santa Fe New Mexico, where I loved it...a great art scene ... in the Land of Enchantment...Every new stage in my creative life surpasses the last....not by competing but by cooperating...Networking...I got introduced to the Movie scene there. Painted in several Movies. During which time I met and worked with Famous Photographer Aaron Jones. We worked together over ten Years . Later I started work with several theatre Groups in Tucson,Az. 1996  Worked with the Sonoran Theatre Works Company on the Nutcracker...doing Scenic Painting...not much money in small Theatre. After close to 15 years in the Southwest , I decided to return to Ca. Where I've developed a Network of Artisans , Artists, and Craftsman and Women...There's a whole lot more...but I feel like I'm bragging, so suffice to say....I have a Rich Life that can't be added up in dollars and cents. Depending on what is being taught. By the hour.
After doing this for many years , I natrurally started having apprenticeships. Teaching my helpers on big jobs.
Mostly apprenticeship. Where I need a helper on larger projects... On the job training.
I recently did a Mural in Alamo Ca. I used Venetian Plaster... it was difficult, a challenge... But I am very happy with the look....and completed work.
If you're interested in multi media... Done with brushes. I am a Master brush guy. I have a full Spectrum of techniques, and Knowledge of materials. I teach how to draw, with a pencil. A hand painted , or drawn piece of Artwork Has an energy that computer graphics Do not have. I teach old world techniques in a Modern Style.
What am I interested in learning? Why am I interested in learning this subject.? Am I willing to practice, and see applications for my art to be used.
