I have been teaching bass and guitar for 30 + years starting at Swain's House of Music in downtown Palo Alto, Gryphon Strings, Castro Valley School of Music and the The Community School of Music and Art in Mountain View.
I have a studio in in Mountain View, can teach virtually or even housecalls.
I am well suited to beginners as well as the experienced player looking for a kick.
Ideally, I like to focus on the fundamentals. Proper technique, fingerboard knowledge, reading. Theory is also very prominent.
I love to explore different genres with students, helping them be well rounded.
I lean towards the blues as a foundation, but I can also play and explain the intricate details of Zappa's rhythms.
