Rick For Music
About
Hi,
I have been studying and performing music since I was 5 years old, starting accordion and voice lessons. When I was 6 years old, I performed on the King Norman television show on CBS, and the Moose Lodge playing accordion and singing Teddy Bear by Elvis Presley. Fast forward to High School, where I took up the drums and played with the "Ambassadors" band. I was informally voted the best garage band drummer of all the bands in Daly City. At 19 years old, I took up guitar and played in several successful bands including my bands called Ball Lightning from 1999-2005, the MotorVators from 2011-2014 and I currently manage and perform regularly with the Zuma Drive All Stars. In the year 2000, in an effort to expand my skills, I took up piano, taking lessons from a classical music teacher, and two other teachers who had performance history in rock, blues, jazz, latin etc....I also took music lessons at Blue Bear Music School in S.F. Suffice it to say, I have been a musician all my life and I am proficient in leading bands as well as performing with guitar, piano and vocals. You can catch me on YouTube or FB. I have experience in teaching, having had students in guitar and piano/keyboards. I understand the importance of applied music theory with an emphasis in rhythm and counting which are often left out of the curriculum of most music teachers. But they are so important in making for a well rounded musician.
