I love teaching serious piano students! I have a MM Degree in Piano Performance from Juilliard. I teach both classical repertoire and jazz/ popular piano improvisation. I have a step by step approach to help you master piano technique. Also, I can coach you in jazz piano arrangement and soloing. I will work with any student who wants to learn whether beginner, intermediate or advanced even approaching professional. I have sight-read and taught may of the great classical masterpieces over the past 25 years. Lastly, I teach worship & hymn improvisation. I look forward to working with you!
I love working with motivated students and sharing the process of developing piano skills. Also, every student has something unique to say with their music. I enjoy helping them develop their gifts.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to assess a students strength and weaknesses in regards to piano skills. I try and discover what areas of interest they have in music. I usually have them play something at the piano which they are comfortable with.
I check their scale, chord knowledge, theory and sight-reading. I assign pieces which will help them grow as well as improvisational forms. Also, I develop a technical regiment to help them master various skills.

I charge $75/ hour for intermediate/ advanced lessons.
I charge $40/ half-hour for beginner lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching during my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I found that I enjoyed it very much. After Juillard, I taught at several Orange County, California schools including Chapman Univeristy, Concordia and Antelope Valley College.
What types of students have you worked with?
I enjoy working with students who are motivated to grow and develop their unique musical skills.

I recently enjoyed a piano recital in which my son and daughter had several of their piano students playing.
