Bayless Music

I have had the pleasure of knowing Johnny Bayless for over 10 years. Shortly after moving to the bay area, I decided to become serious about my dream of learning to play the guitar. I naturally went to the closest guitar center and signed up for music lessons. I chose him as my teacher because he looked like a rock star but was an interesting dichotomy of many different styles of guitar, such as classical, country and blues.

When he left the company to start his own business, I followed him because his style of teaching was incredibly dynamic, and he was able to adapt lessons to my learning needs which at times was painfully slow. When life got in the way and I had to stop my lessons, he never gave up on me and my dream, and would periodically check in to see if I was ready to pick up my lessons where I left off. When I finally returned to my lessons with him, it was like 4 years had not gone by. He quickly got me back to speed and then finally turned me into a true musician. I no longer feel like a fraud when I pick up my guitars and I can actually enjoy playing them.

Johnny has an ability to connect with a student and meet them at their learning point. He is patient and will ensure you understand a concept before moving on to something new. He will push you to be better and won’t let you coast, maximizing the efficiency of your time and lesson. His passion and enthusiasm for music and the guitar is obvious upon spending any amount of time with him. I highly recommend him as your next guitar guru and can promise you will not be disappointed.

I’m very happy with his guitar lessons. He is kind, friendly, and patient with me. He makes every lesson fun and challenging, and makes me want to learn.
