About this pro

My main goal is to help students get everything out of a music lesson that they are looking for! :)  I enjoy working with students of all ages, though most of my current students are kids ranging from 5-18. Anything a student wants to learn about singing, playing piano, music theory, or audio engineering and production, I am happy to build into our time together. The DAWs I know best are Logic and ProTools.

I really enjoy watching my students grow and learn more about themselves through music.  Any opportunity  to help someone become more musically empowered is something I gravitate towards.

Wonderful! She's extremely helpful, makes detailed observations, and explains vocal technique clearly. Beneficial to anyone in college studying music. Would highly recommend.

Marie is such a professional. It was clear from the first lesson that she has a plan, specific to my kids’ needs. She is creative in her approach and her teaching makes sense to my young kids. They look forward to every lesson; finding it fun, engaging, and interactive. Marie is the best.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

In a first lesson I like to spend a little time learning more about your musical background and what your short and long term goals are with music in general. From there we can decide what the best use of our time together will be 🙂

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

BM in Vocal Performance

Vocational Certificate in Music Production/Recording

ProTools and Logic X proficient

How did you get started teaching?

I really enjoy teaching and always have, so taking on students was a very natural progression once I felt like I had learned enough to help others. :)

What types of students have you worked with?

All ages.  My current, primary demographic is kids ages 5 - 18 and college students pursuing music as a major.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The best learning comes from finding a good student/teacher fit! Take the time to explore and be vocal ;] about what you want most out of your lessons.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Think about what it is you love most about music as a listener, and what that implies about the kind of skills you want to develop.  Often times learning to play your favorite artists music is an exciting and fulfilling part of growing as a musician.
