About
Lessons with me are student-centric, emphasizing classical foundation in all fields and placing strong emphasis on accommodating individual students' specific ambitions. Strong stage presence, deeper understanding of blending & breath support, and a sharper ear for intuitive learning are all skills you can expect to develop with me. Song motivated lesson plans, finding a way of having a good time, and making music in every lesson are tenets I hold near and dear.
Teaching is the most inspiring part of my daily life, and writing and creating is a cherished fulfillment and reflection of that joy. Nothing makes me happier than helping someone else realize their abilities to find the same connection within and with others.

How did you get started teaching?
I was asked by a fellow student to tutor them in ear training and music theory. It really helped her, and inspired me so...here we are (:
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught and teach students of all ages, skill levels nad musical backgrounds! My demographic tends to be song-focused, and typically interested in multiple instruments (i.e. voice & guitar, voice & piano, music production, songwriting, etc.)
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had a 1.5h songwriting session with a client who was looking for help to work through a traumatic past event. Together, we were able to finish lyrics in one setting and he immediately set up his next sesion for melody and harmony.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Committment to long term growth cannot be overvalued. I think people often give up sooner than they should and would be surprised at what can be accomplished with a little time and dedication!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what it is you love most about music as a listener, who you like to listen to and what genres - and what then, that might tell you about what you want to learn. What inspires you is also a key in to what will bring you the most fulfillment.
