How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching professionally while earning my B.M. from San Diego State University. I continued teaching during my time at California Institute of the Arts and I've been making a living as a music instructor ever since (15+ years).
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages, all levels, all styles.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love creating music in small group jazz settings and also working with singers/rappers/producers/beat-makers in the studio. Aside from teaching, those are the two processes I’m involved in the most these days.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find the best fit for your situation. Ask about recommendations from people in your community with experience giving or receiving lessons from professional teachers.
