About

My teaching approach:

It is important to understand that what a student wants should be the same as what he needs. Take the time to fully understand your guitar studentsâ€TM goals so that you know exactly what needs to get done in order to reach them (do this consistently). When you have done this, you can then communicate to your students directly why the things they †̃needâ€TM to know are the SAME as what they ultimately †̃wantâ€TM to know. (This is critically important!) Once your students understand how what you are teaching them will ultimately help them become better musicians, they will feel much more motivated to practice and overcome the challenges they encounter in their guitar playing.

My influences are:

Too many to list.

My guitar lessons take place in:

The teacher's studio or the student's home

Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment Selection

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

Communicate with prospective students by finding out what their musical background is like, along with their ability levels. Students take guitar lessons for a variety of reasons, and

lessons will be more productive if everyone is on the same page. Some students take guitar lessons for fun, while others want to perform in a talent show, and yet others have dreams of becoming a professional like

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

Explain the theory behind what you're doing but bear in mind that in the early stages of learning you should concentrate on developing a student's technique. Modify your lesson plans to each individual student. That is why they are paying for personal tuition. Ask the student what their goals are. Know how to develop the plan to help the student reach their goals.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

The student is inspired and excited to learn guitar. A good teacher will know how to keep a student interested and progressing, a bad teacher will twiddle their thumbs while the student tries to figure out whatâ€TMs going on.
