Nate is an excellent teacher and his lessons are so much fun! He's made me 100x more confident in my ability to sing out loud (in front of people) and even better, he's shown me the strength of my own instrument. :) Every lesson with Nate is amazing! I always look forward to working with him.

Nate's approach to teaching is motivating, collaborative, and fun. Nate teaches all ages therefore his approach with a younger student might be different with an older student. Nate customizes the learning experience based on the students needs and for me its just what I needed.

He was patient, great at explaining music theory and was open to any thing I was interested in and wanted to explore.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I always ask what really EXCITES new students & how I can help them reach their goals. I find that the best results emerge when I allow lessons to evolve organically, so I make sure that all students know they can express which areas of music interest them the most & I do my best to include that in our lesson plan.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

*Specialist Certificate in Home Recording from Berklee College of Music ๐Ÿ‘จ‍๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ“œ

*14 Years & counting as a Musician, Producer, Singer, Songwriter & Vocal Coach w/ Legion Beats ๐Ÿ›กโš”๏ธ๐ŸŽถ

*3 Years studying vocals w/ a professional Voice Coach ๐ŸŽค

*12 years studying piano w/ 2 professional Jazz Pianists ๐ŸŽน๐ŸŽน

How did you get started teaching?

I’ve always had a strong love for music & have always been a natural teacher. In 2003, I was asked by a friend if I’d be willing to teach some of his private students so I gave it a try. Soon after, I realized that I not only had a knack for it, but also developed a passion for music education. I wound up becoming the teacher I always wanted & truly love helping my students become the best musicians they can be!

What types of students have you worked with?

Every single kind! In the 16 years I’ve been teaching, I’ve taught literally thousands of lessons to hundreds of different students so I’ve worked w/ the full spectrum of student types. Ranging from students w/ extreme shyness, disabilities, attention issues, high school level, young kids, professional, senior citizens, classical, adults, Jazz, college level, students who LOVE to improvise, students who HATE to improvise, virtuoso or beginner  . . . I have taught them all!
