Bruce Holms Piano/keyboard - Music Theory - Song Writing, Song Production, Voice Recording Lessons
About
Playing the piano/keyboard can be a very rewarding experience. Learning to play does not need to be hard work - it can be fun - especially when I show you the "tricks" that make becoming a musician a reachable goal.
Whether you are a beginner or advanced, every lesson is filled with unique information and cool exercises that "make sense" when I explain how they apply to the piece of music that you are learning.
Practicing is playing -- playing is practicing.
You will learn to play the piano/keyboard quickly and easily while understanding how the notes and chords work together to make the songs that you love sound incredible. You can even learn how to hear a song and play it "by ear" with very little effort.
With your cooperation I can help you to achieve your goal of becoming a musician!
I taught myself how to play the piano and by the time I was 14, I was playing music in talent shows. When I realized that I needed to study with better teachers, I went on to receive my BA in Music from Fairleigh Dickinson University, NJ. I taught and performed music in NYC for 10 years and after touring the US as Arranger and Director of a 7 piece show band I moved to CA where I received my MA in Arranging and Composing from Dick Grove School of Music in Studio City, CA. I have continued teaching, recording, and performing in Santa Barbara to this very day!
Whether you want to be a career performer, a beginner, or just want to know how to play piano/keyboard better I can teach you how to make music! If you are willing to give it a try - I will give you100% of my knowledge and expertise. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Let's get started making music together!
Although my original intent was to play, I soon realized at an early age (14 when I began teaching the children of friends), that I was learning more than I expected when I shared my knowledge with others.
This has continued years after I retired from the exhausting performance schedule of performing 5-7 dates a week, 52 weeks of the year!
These days I love teaching beginners, intermediate, and advanced students of all ages! I find that my joy comes from their successes!
Whether they are learning to play, read music better, understand the theory behind the “scenes”, or learn how to write and record their own original music, I feel a sense of accomplishment when students reach their goals.
