She has been teaching for 14 years, with a background in advanced classical repertoire, accompanying, and mainstream songs from classic rock to pop music. Her musical diversity gives her the ability to adapt to any student's desires and styles of music! What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first priority is to learn what you want to learn! There are so many avenues to go when learning music, so I start by getting to know the student and what their desires are. For most younger beginner students, I start with lesson books that teach sheet music. But for many older or experienced students I first spend time getting to know the student's skill level and type of music they are trying to learn. I can teach students how to read sheet music, play by chords, or both!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After years of learning piano from some amazing teachers, I auditioned to be a student of a renowned concert pianist named Giacchino Longobardi. I studied under him learning piano techniques from the Neapolitan School of Music. My first paid gig was at the age of 12 and I started teaching piano lessons at age 14. When I was 16, I performed at Carnegie Hall with the Empire State Youth Orchestra. I have spent my entire life submersed in many types of music. I have conducted choirs, performed with orchestras, and performed in piano bars. I have been teaching lessons for 14 years and have taught hundreds of students from age 3-70!

I charge $100 an hour. For weekly lessons, it works out to be:
30 minute lessons $200-250 per month
45 minute lessons $300-375 per month
60 minute lessons $400-500 per month
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching at age 14! I wanted to earn some extra money, so I walked around the neighborhood offering piano lessons. I was very accomplished at piano at a young age and was excited to share it - I've been teaching ever since!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with almost anyone out there. I've taught students who want to go to college for music and students who want to just learn for fun. I've taught how to read sheet music, how to read by chords, and many different styles.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I always enjoyed my piano recitals. I always loved how my older students inspired the younger ones. The younger ones would always watch seeing what they could become if they practiced hard.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Discuss what your goals are and how much time you will have to work towards them each week. The more your teacher understands what you're looking for, the better they can help you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What type of music do you want to learn? Are you serious or just playing for fun? In one year from now, what would you like to be able to play?
