What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to have a phone call first thing and see if I can answer their questions straight away. It's also a good time to explain my policies and see if its a good fit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Master's in Music 2001, Suzuki teacher training levels 1-4 for violin and guitar, graduate of Teaching Artist Training with LA Music Center 2023, Music together certificate 2010, UCLA Song Writing Certificate 2007
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the student and teacher are a good fit energetically. Most are well intentioned, but if it doesn't feel right, try someone else!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
