My teaching approach: Counseling with acoustic & electric guitar, electric bass, drums too, jamming skills, chords & progressions in rock, pop, & blues formats - classic tunes - good w/ kids & families - GREAT REFERENCES- live performance- Assistance in purchase & maintenance of related gear - building confidence to play for family & friends - we do many cool songs in the school of pop, soul & rock !... My influences are: anything heartfelt or played with conviction ! What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Always beginning with the basics in chord theory & getting a good tone.
Then reviewing some basic scales
and fun songs. Lots of great material. Understanding song form
is also my focus.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
20+ years of song writing & performance. Also working as Music Director for over a decade.

People started asking me to work with them because we made a connection & I've worked with all ages.

Beginning to Intermediate on guitar/ bass & drums - all ages 6-60.

We just placed a teen student into Berklee College of Music after 2 years of counsel.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Organization & consistency are key with keeping a sense of humor.
