Cheryl is astonishingly kind, insightful and patient. As an adult beginner without any musical background but plenty of bad musical learning experiences to overcome I feel truly blessed to have found Cheryl. She is funny, supportive, knows her stuff and has an amazing breadth of musical mastery. I am so excited and happy to have such an excellent teacher and feel confident I will learn to play the accordion and fulfill a lifelong dream to have music in my life.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Cheryl Teach Music offers an Initial First 30 minutes Music Lesson, $70, Mention for $10 off, without any obligation. I find that face to face time is beneficial for both parties. It offers you, the prospective student, the opportunity without obligation or pressure, to view Cheryl Teach Music's peaceful, safe, comfortable and happy online music school where joyful music learning takes place. It gives you the benefits of an Initial First Lesson so you may see if it is right for you. It provides me insight into what you would like, as well as the best and most efficient way for you to receive your musical training.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Having played, read music, recorded, performed, improvised, and jammed my entire childhood, teenage years and continuing as an Adult, I pursued my formal education at Whitman College and then on to more musical training at The Juilliard School. Cheryl Teach Music can help you with your musical dreams and goals on any instrument, drums, and voice.

How did you get started teaching?

What types of students have you worked with?

At Cheryl Teach Music, I work with students of all ages, starting at 2 years up through retirement and then some. Working with all types of special needs and differently abled people, my specialty is music and lessons for everyone!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Before you hire your music teacher, make sure you feel 100% comfortable and that you are always safe. It is very important to have an easy fit. Make sure your teacher understands you and will work with you in the way you desire and the way it works best and most efficientlly for you and how you uniquely learn.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

If you are in front of an experienced and knowledgeable instructor, they will guide you through those questions even if you are not completely sure yourself.
