What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Cheryl Teach Music offers an Initial First 30+ minutes Music Lesson, $60, without any obligation. We find that actual face to face time is beneficial for both parties. It offers you, the prospective student, the opportunity, without obligation or pressure, to view Cheryl Teach Music's peaceful, safe, comfortable and happy music school where joyful music learning takes place. It gives you the benefits of an Initial First Lesson so you may see if it is right for you. It provides us insight into what you would like, as well as the best and most efficient way for you to receive your musical training.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Having played, read music, recorded, performed, improvised, and jammed, my entire childhood, teenage years and continuing as an Adult, I pursued my formal education at Whitman College and then on to more musical training at The Juilliard School. Cheryl Teach Music can help you with your musical dreams and goals, on any instrument, drums, and voice.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

There are many options at Cheryl Teach Music. After your complimentary lesson, we can decide together, how to best accomodate your needs with lesson length, frequency, and tuition cost.

How did you get started teaching?

Growing up in a musical family spanning generations, I have always loved music. I continued my formal and informal musical education with emphasis on playing, reading, improvising, performing, and teaching.

What types of students have you worked with?

At Cheryl Teach Music, we work with students of all ages, starting at 2 years up through retirement. We work with all types of special needs and differently abled people. Our specialty is music for everyone!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

We offer monthly family jams and practice recitals for our students, as well as the community; Free Monthly Ukulele Classes; Free Music Lessons Donations for Fund Raisers, etc.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure you feel 100% comfortable and that you are always safe. It is very important to have an easy fit. Make sure your teacher understands you and will work with you in the way you desire and the way it works best and most efficientlly for you.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

If you are in front if an experienced and knowledgeable instructor, they will guide you through those questions even if you are not completely sure yourself.
