About

I teach drums, guitar, ukulele, music production, music theory and song writing. My services stand out because I have developed my own cirriculum which puts a strong emphaiss on learning practical skills that will actually be useful in a real musical situation. I also encourage students to study music that excites them. You can learn so much from a simple pop song.

I enjoy connecting with my students and help bring their musicianship to the next level. I really love how music can transform peoples lives. I have noticed that when teaching kids it is just as important to be a good mentor or role model for them as it is to be a good music teacher. I have also noticed that adults who take lessons find more meaning in their life through styding music which brings me joy.

    Frequently asked questions

Usually in the first lesson I have them play for me (if they have prior experience) and access where they are musically and then give them the tools they need to progress.  If they have no prior experience I get them started with a cirriculum that I have been developing over the last 20 years.

I have 20 years of first hand teaching experience as well as a  Bachelor's in music.  I have also taken a lot of drum lessons myself.  Through my own educaiton I have learned how to teach more proficiently.  Recently I've been studying with one of the best drum educators in the world to further develop my skills as both a player and a educator.  I will always be striving to become the best performer and educator I can be.
