North County Music Lessons is an online music school based in San Diego, but available to students everywhere. We offer online music lessons for the instruments of guitar, bass, drums, piano, and voice. We can connect through Skype, Facetime, Zoom, or WhatsApp. 18 years of teaching experience. Both traditional and non- traditional style lessons are offered.

Lessons include:

- musicianship

- ear training

- left and right hand piano techniques

I love having Al & Karina teach our kids over facetime or zoom right in our home! We live in Canada so I don’t have to drive my three children anywhere for their lessons in subzero temperatures waiting for the lessons to be over in a freezing vehicle.

Al & Karina have done such a fabulous job teaching our children the piano, guitar, drums and voice that it has really opened doors for them to participate in leading worship in their school, church and youth group.

Al & Karina are patient and kind, with amazing teaching and playing skills. I count it a privilege to have them as teachers!

They are flexible if we need to cancel lessons and we try to extend the same consideration the times when they need to cancel.

I would highly recommend them!

Al is a talented teacher and truly invested in helping students grow musically. His lessons are dynamic, enjoyable, and with the right level of challenge to ensure I make progress. He is upbeat, punctual and always kind. I look forward to our weekly lessons because I feel I can do this.

In addition to our online lessons, Al records short videos of him going over the new material learned at the lessons. His thoughtful approach is unique and works very well. I highly recommend North County Music!

Nina (drums, bass guitar, vocals, violin early on) & Chet (guitar & vocals), now 18 and 16, love being musicians, largely because Al and Karina have been their outstanding music teachers for more than 8 years, mostly via remote lessons. They continue to grow in skill and confidence with each of their instruments and we owe that to North County Music! We will take some time at the beginning of the first lesson to assess the students musical level in order to start or continue their musical education based on their personal needs and goals.
