Music Coach
About
I have been in the professional music industry for 20 years. I have been teaching as long as i have been a touring musician and music manager. Nashville, TN is predominantly where I work from and have enjoyed every minute.
My teaching philosophy is understanding how each student learns. Everyone learns different, and sometimes students may struggle with new material. That is ok. With me as your teacher I will give you the confidence, patience and understanding. My job as a teacher is to bring the very best of you on your instrument and to instill the confidence. My goal is to teach you so well that eventually you’ll know how to hear a piece of music and learn it quickly and accurately. I teach all ages and all sorts of skill levels and abilities. My youngest student has been 4 and my oldest, 83 years of age.
The first time we meet, I will take the time to get to know you. Understand why you want to play, or perhaps why you decided to take lessons. My ambition is highlight a desire for you to practice your instrument, which means. We need to figure out what songs you eventually want to play. While you enjoy learning to play the songs that motivate you, we will lean music theory as this is a foundation for fundamental musicianship. Practice no longer becomes a chore but becomes something you look forward to accomplish!
I offer lessons in two time options: 40-45 minutes and 70-75 minutes. Why? Because it's a better value for you. A typical lesson includes time for tuning your instrument (about 5 minutes) and discussing challenges or questions (another 8-10 minutes). In a standard 30-minute lesson, that leaves only 10-15 minutes of actual instruction—not nearly enough time to make real progress.
Since this platform doesn’t allow me to list my preferred lesson durations, I want to be upfront about my approach. My goal is to ensure you get the most out of every session.
If you're interested, send me a message with your email, and I’ll provide a full lesson, prices and an example of a current lesson plan for one of my students. I build a custom tailored lesson plan for each student. I'm here to help you and can be flexible with your desired time. I currently teach 6 days a week and off on Sundays.
