What I liked about working with Mark J. was that he made the lesson feel practical, encouraging, and well suited to a beginner. Since it was a 30-minute lesson, it felt like the right length to stay productive without overdoing it, especially when building muscle memory early on. I really appreciated that he adapted his approach to my mindset. Instead of starting with abstract music theory, which I’m less interested in, he focused on helping me choose a song I actually want to learn and then taught the skills needed to get there. He also immediately helped me understand why using a metronome matters and gave me several exercises that felt manageable and useful. On top of that, he had a sharp eye for details in my strumming that I would not have noticed on my own, and his feedback helped me understand what to adjust right away.
