About this pro

I want that you become the musician you want to be. You will learn how to master your instrument and have fun doing it. I'd love to grow your interests by expanding your knowledge of many different genres of music, world cultures, and history. I will learn with you along the way and adapt my teaching style to you. Let's make music together!

I teach to share the knowledge and experience I have acquired through the years. I want to help people develop their musical voices and discover the world. To me, learning music is not only about playing. It’s about self-discovery and growing as human beings.

We love our instructor, Louis Racicot. He is so patient with my kiddo. I'm not sure if he had experience with instructing a child with autism...virtually, but he's doing wonderfully well! He is a professional. His instruction is simple. He breaks the music down in bite size pieces and allows my kiddo to succeed. He's the best!

Louis is such an amazing teacher! My son’s musical talent and range has grown under Louis’s instruction. I appreciate that the lessons are fluid and that my son’s musical interests are the structure for every lesson. We rely on Louis for musical advice from classes at school to equipment. And above all else Louis has the best attitude and positive outlook you can tell instantly that he is doing what he loves and it’s contagious.

I'm an adult amateur violin learner, and had almost no formal training outside of public school instruction until I began lessons with Louis several months ago. He's been fantastic at helping me prepare for concerts with my community orchestra, while also pushing me to develop both technical skill and musicality on challenging solo pieces. He also takes time to correct and solidify the basics (bowing, hand positioning, etc...) wherever needed. Feedback is always constructive and easy to respond to... He's helped me to grow my skill set and gain confidence while playing. I definitely recommend him as a teacher!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I love to meet new students, get to know their personality and what are their goals to help them acheive every one of them in the most efficiant and fun way possible. I believe every one has a different way to learn and I taylor my teaching process around my student needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied Classical Violin Performance at the University of Montreal and St-Laurent College from 2008 through 2013. Since completing my studies, I've  had the opportunity to hold a number of professional roles including violin and guitar teacher, symphony orchestra player, and solo violinist for world touring shows. As of today I am a proud member of the prestigious Cirque Du Soleil Musicians and Artists bank, and am endorsed by NS Design Electric Violins and Remic Microphones.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching guitar at a music school in my home town in Canada when I started College. I always was passionate by music and sharing this passion with new musician is something that I will always love to do.

What types of students have you worked with?

I educate and inspire a diverse group of students, from elementary school children to retired adults. I trainned guitarists and violinist for College and Orchestra auditions. My goal as a teacher is to instill a sense of music appreciation, while at the same time educating students about the technical aspects of music.
