About

Music is inside all of us, I do not believe in talent. If you can talk you can sing, if you can walk you can dance. I use the music the student enjoys to teach them the technique they need to play well, all it takes is the commitment to stay with it and practice.

I teach electric and aucoustic guitar, bass, and drums, adults and kids alike, beginners to advanced, and I cater the lessons to what the individual wants and needs. I teach from my home studio where I have many instruments we can use to play together and, where my schedule allows it, I can also come to you. I have studied many kinds of music both here in America and all over the world, and I have performed and taught professionally for over fifteen years.

Justin has been working with my grandson for 2-3 years. My grandson looks forward to his lessons and practices! ! I am so inspired that I signed up for lessons (and I am not a young grandma). I am most impressed with his ability to adjust and simplify his lessons when he sees I don’t understand or my fingers don’t know what to do. I, too, look forward to my lessons (and practicing).

Justin is awesome, and I highly recommend him if youre considering a new guitar teacher.
Prior to working with Justin I was stalled out with guitar. I had learned some thing on my own, but wasnt making much progress. I couldnt seem to concentrate long enough to get in to difficult songs, and my playing was stale. I was getting bored.
I started working with Justin years ago (I still have a lesson every single week), and have stayed with him because he is great at what he does. He is patient, takes the time to dissect and learn the songs that I want to play, and makes them easy for me to understand, and works with me to master things that dont come naturally to me. Music is a challenge for me, and working with Justin takes it from frustrating to fun, and I am consistently improving my playing month after month, year after year.
I have a lot of fun playing songs with him that have two guitar parts. Plus, chicks dig guitar players so... the investment of time and money is worth it. ; )
If youre on the fence, I highly recommend you at least try out Justin and see for yourself what he brings to the table. Hes worth every penny, and developing a worthwhile skill, like guitar, over the long term is one of the most rewarding gifts you can give to yourself.

My son and I take lessons every other week. Super professional. Patient with kids and adults alike. Great techniques for learning quickly. Tailors lessons to the students needs. Always super nice. We couldnt have asked for a better instructor. Weve been at it a year and have no plans to cancel anytime soon. Highly recommended.

I have been taking guitar lessons with Justin for the past 3-4 years and it’s been a great experience. He is a very talented musician and can play just about any piece by ear.
Justin is an excellent instructor at any level and helps me work through pieces to simplify them for my experience level, but still find ways to develop skills.
Justin is flexible on arranging the time, place, and frequency of my lessons. It is definitely a good value for me and a pastime I have found to be extremely rewarding.
Whether you are a beginner like I was or more advanced, he can help you sharpen your skills.

Justin is a great music teacher for our teen. He connects with his students in a meaningful way which makes teens want to play more music! He finds songs to learn that match the students taste. I highly recommend Justin as a professional, dedicated, prompt and reasonably priced teacher.

Frequently asked questions

For a new student I first ask what they want to learn, what kind of music they like, and what they already know.  I believe in masterful technique, but I think that is best learned through the music the student enjoys.  For example, If they want to learn to shred we pick one of their favorite guitar solos to learn from, or if they want to learn bar chords we pick a song they love that uses bar chords.

I also like to set goals with the student to keep us organized and on track and we will periodically assess whether or not we are achieving the goals we set out.  Music is so vast it helps to set limits to what we want to learn and we can change or expand them as we go.
