About
I've been teaching music since the 70s, in public schools and in private studio situations. I have a Masters in Music Performance and Music Education and offer lessons in piano, organ, guitar, and voice. I no longer teach in the school system, but am now focused on private instruction. I love the one-on-one teaching,as it allows me to incorporate my "3P style" of teaching: "Personal, Practical, Panoramic". What that means to me is - instruction adapted to the individuals' learning styles, goals, and overall development.
I find my job to be very rewarding and fun. It is really exciting to see people develop their musical skills and have a chance to see how much fun playing an instrument or learning to sing can be. I love the variety of working with total beginners as well as experienced students, looking to add to their talents. Music is good for our well-being, and a deeper knowledge and appreciation for it is something that can last a lifetime and add so much to it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to chat with students or their parent or grandparent prior to scheduling, to get an idea of goals and prior experience. That way I can have appropriate materials ready at the first lesson. If desired, they can swing by the studio to check things out and get acquainted before the first lesson.
