About this pro

I'm a local CERTIFIED TEACHER here in Colorado and taught in the public schools for 11 years.

I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and drums for over 25 years. Currently, I have about 35 guitar and drum students in the Denver area. My lessons are driven by 3 simple goals for each student:

Learn Songs You Want to Play - Simplify Lessons to Your Skill Level - Make Learning Music Fun

$35 for 30 Minutes

$45 for 45 Minutes

$55 for 1 Hour

$25-$30 for Group Lessons

*Travel or Studio Fees May Apply

I also prioritize Jam Bands and Group Lessons because research shows that learning music in a group is very beneficial.

Jam Bands are where students have an opportunity to learn a song with other guitar and drum students.

Group Lessons are an ongoing opportunity to learn songs and theory with 4-5 other students. In these settings, students learn the value and skill of playing with other musicians and have lots of fun doing it.

I am also a LIVE MUSIC PERFORMER and often have my STUDENTS PLAY WITH ME at local restaurants and coffee shops within a few months if they would like to.

Seeing improvement from my students and having them play songs they choose is what I enjoy most about teaching music.

Kevin engaged and encouraged my son in ways I would not have thought of. He provided much praise to my son and provided opportunities my son was encouraged with.

Kevin has a wonderful talent for teaching music to guitar and drum students of all ages. He is also uniquely good about providing performance opportunities at local venues for his students and makes these events fun and inspiring for all. He's great at teaching what a student is interested in learning while also providing a solid foundation for musicians to build upon.

Kevin is a really great guitar teacher! He has done a great job with our 12 year old son. He recommends songs he wants to play and keeps him interested. I love how he sets up realistic expectations that are written out for him to work on each week. His virtual lessons have been just as great as the in-person lessons which we've really appreciated. I would highly recommend him!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I truly enjoy teaching and taught in the public schools for 11 years. Teaching music is so so much FUN! And it should be fun for the students to learn. When I'm teaching, I tell all my students that if they don't enjoy and smile about the music they're playing, then we need to change something. I would love to start lessons with you soon.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

-Taught in the public schools for 11 Years

-Have played Guitar for Over 20 Years

-Have played Drums for Over 25 Years

-Live Performer with monthly shows at various venues across Denver

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching in the public schools right out of college after I completed my degree in Elementary Education in 2003. In 2015, I decided to combine my love of teaching and my love of music and began teaching private music lessons.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work with beginner and intermediate students and currently am working with students from ages 6-77. Learning an instrument is fun at any age!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently had several of my students play with me at a local gig. They enjoyed it and even got to earn their own tips and invite their friends and family to their own paying gig!  How fun!!!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Definitley find a teacher whose teaching style you enjoy and whose location works for you. They should help you learn songs that YOU want to play.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are my goals with guitar or drums?

Do I want to enjoy music more in my life?

Am I willing to commit to at least 1-2 months of lessons?
