My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: I teach Monday - Saturday. Guitar Techniques: Fingerstyle, Performance, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: If a student has had experience playing the guitar before I typically ask the student to play something to get a feel for their strengths and weaknesses and then introduce technical or musical ideas to help them accomplish a higher proficiency. If a student is a beginner, I will introduce the basics of posture and sitting position, the open string notes, and the basics of free stroke and rest stroke and basic rhythms. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: Guitar lessons are always tailored to the specific needs of each individual student and their specific goals. I will introduce note reading and will always strive to introduce new repertoire and exercises that will challenge but not overwhelm the student. What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have received a Bachelor's and Master's of Music degree with an emphasis in guitar performance. I am also deep into the study of Alexander technique which is a practice in thought to help maximize efficiency in movement on and off the guitar.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. For in studio lessons I charge $30 for a 30 minute lesson, $40 for 45, and $50 for a 60 minute lesson. I always offer 1 free trial lesson.
