What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We asses skill level and ability, goals, favorite styles and design custom programs to help you reach your goals. We minimize the amount of extraneous info, so you can focus on the specific items you need to become proficient at YOUR favorite songs and styles.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We make sure all our instructors have formal training, and experience teaching. We also make sure they pass a background check as per our technicians requirements on Amazon.com.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
yes lessons are the following rates:
30 mins 4 pack = $140 ($35 ea)
45 mins 4 pack = $200 ($50 ea)
60 mins 4 pack = $240 ($60 ea)
How did you get started teaching?
I have personally been teaching 22+ yrs. I got my first teaching positions at various local music stores. Most notably was Golden Music Center, where I taught 60 students a week. In 2001 I started Boulder Guitar Studio, and in 2014 I launched My Local Music Lessons to serve more students, on more instruments in more areas.
What types of students have you worked with?
we offer lessons for ages 6 and up, all styles and all levels from beginner to advanced

We offer opportunities for students to perform at the Boulder Creek Festival each year!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
We make it easy, as we have already pre screened each instructor for qualifications, degree, credentials, affiliations, and background check. We take the guesswork out of who to hire so the student can enjoy, relax and dive in knowing they are getting the best quality instructors, who customize the program to suit their needs.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Whatever your needs are, we can address them. You may not know in the beginning, and or those needs may evolve as your progress. This relationship with your instructor will also evolve as the process blossoms. Our specialty is working with you ongoing basis, to meet your needs as they arise, and evolve.
