I teach my students to be well rounded musicians as well as pianists. We do a variety of activities in every lesson to develop strong rhythm, keen listening, and a fluid piano technique. I have a master's degree in piano performance and bring my own understanding of playing the piano to my teaching. Lessons cover sight-reading, theory, technique, and most importantly, music that is fun and exciting to play. School age students have a private weekly lesson and two performance classes where they can play for their peers each semester, as well as a recital every spring. Adults have private, weekly lessons. I have 25 years of teaching experience.
I love helping each student grow as a musician and gain confidence in their skills at the piano. Because I work with people one-on-one, I can customize my teaching to meet the needs and interests of every student. It is a joy to watch students master new skills, grasp new concepts, and play music that is expressive and exciting. I have aways loved playing the piano and want to help other people discover the joy of making music for themselves.
