Piano lessons personalized for each student! I teach from my home studio and will tailor the lessons to fit both your schedule and your childs learning habits. My goal is to teach every student a love for music according to their learning style.
With a degree in teaching piano, I always enjoy learning more and more about what this career has to offer! I have a history teaching all ages (2-elderly) and all student types including special needs! I have been teaching since 2002 and playing piano ever since I can remember.
I enjoy getting to know each student and watching their growth and development as they grow as people and as musicians.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With each new student I start slowly for the first few lessons to gauge their interest, aptitudes, and preferences. The age and their history with music has a big impact on how those initial lessons are laid out.
My initial goal is to get to know them, their goals, as well as their parents' goals so I can lay out a plan to reach everyone's goals.

How did you get started teaching?
My first student was my cousin. Growing up in a small town they were having trouble finding her a piano teacher, I had a passion for teaching and had surpassed my previous teacher as well as the church pianist in my abilities. Since then, I have had a love for teaching!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages from 2 to a lady in her 80's. I have taught special needs, prodigies, and many more students!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher you connect with that has the emphasis you are looking for. A personal connection with the teacher makes piano lessons much more enjoyable and something to look forward to each week rather than dread.

Is there a specific style you want to learn (jazz, improv, classical, modern...)?
