Delaware Guitar School

My teaching approach:

I am a guitarist, singer songwriter, and teacher. For 30 years I have helped adults and kids have fun with the guitar! I believe you can learn guitar by learning the style you are most interested in, given basics. I teach theory and sight reading BUT I believe you need to work on technique, position, and just plain get used to using fingers as well. I've taught adults and children alike. I would like to help you start having fun with the guitar today!

Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas:

Delaware, mostly Kent Co but will travel.

Guitar Techniques:

Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Improvisation, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

No previous skill, knowledge or experience req, But I try to find out where you are with the guitar, ask questions about where you'd like to go with it (no wrong answer here!)...then proceed to just get you USE to the guitar first. You will be playing as Quickly as possible. THIS WILL NOT HAVE THE FEEL OF A COLLEGE CLASS, but you WILL, over time & in a relaxed and fun environment,have the fret board "deMystified"! You WILL have fun.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

enthusiastic, wants to learn but not afraid to tell me what he/she wants to learn....styles etc. Wants to learn but have fun doing so. Has a style in mind...but open to others as a way to improve overall
