Fitness On Tap
About
I have been a physical therapist for 20 years and hold certifications in strength and conditioning through the NSCA, Ashtanga Yoga, Health Coaching, and pre-employment / post-injury screening all of which I offer along with health seminars/exercise programs and videos/functional movement screens. I've been fortunate to work with several top surgeons in the country via traveling physical therapy which I did for 6.5 years and attend numerous con ed courses on nutrition/exercise, weight management, exercise physiology, pain relieving techniques, joint mobilization, sports, and sleep among others.
I have worked with all ages ( infants to geriatrics) former military, professional/college/high school athletes (including among others soccer, basketball, football, hockey, dance, cheerleading, baseball, wrestling, volleyball, rowing, equestrian, archery, tennis, golf, and running) & simply individuals wanting to be healthy/be more active/meet fitness goals. I have worked in corporations, schools, hospitals, rehab centers, outpatient facilities, wellness centers, nursing homes, gyms, community centers, country clubs, and ALFs.
I tailor my programs to the individual's needs based on objective measurements/screens when implementing the program not like the traditional one size fits all approach.
My rehab background allows me to prevent further injuries/make the individual the most efficient mover in less time while being able to make small changes/live a lifestyle in moderation. I follow these same principles myself, have completed a mile at a 6 minute pace (ran cross country for 4 years in grade school and track in high school), eat everything in moderation (including sweets), have never missed a day of work due to illness, and continue to work toward more efficient movement patterns myself.
I believe in educating my clients so they are able to apply what they've learned to new challenges to continue to be the best version of themselves. I have helped individuals gain more range of motion/flexibility, increase strength-lifting more weight, run faster, jump higher, win games, prevent falls, and decrease pain. I have all the latest equipment at my fingertips including cable columns, BOSU ball, plyobox, squat rack, rowing machine, bike, elliptical, peloton, bolster rolls, medicine balls, kettlebells, ballet bar, monkey bars, TRX bands, treadmills, pool, etc and have several online programs on overall health including eating, exercise, stress management, work detox, and household chemical detox with daily challenges along with a 30 day 10-15 minute yoga or exercise video series available for purchase. My motto is Be Fit, Be Great, Be Alive. Check out my website fitnessontap.net for more info including my products under the shop tab or my linked in profile. Jaime Schuette
I have always loved health and wellness since I was young, competing in sports myself and taking an interest in the human body. To me, there is complete satisfaction in knowing that I can make a difference in someone's ability to function / move more efficiently solely by proper individual testing and use of my knowledge in biomechanics/movement patterns. Unfortunately, there is a lot of information out there via the Internet nowadays and plenty of individuals want to tout their services as trainers, however, when you find someone who knows what they are doing, the results speak for themselves and are clearly different than the services provided by most. I can speak to the number of times that I have been in a class and have individually corrected another student because the teacher wasn't able to identify the risk for injury for that individual or the improper mechanics that individual was demonstrating. I know I can get results and educate at the same time, and this brings me pure joy!!
