Francisco Burgos Guitar Lessons

My teaching approach:

Students will learn the style of music they most enjoy. Classical, Flamenco, Brazilian, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Latin and Pop music, are some of the styles I teach. I also teach Music theory, Harmony, and improvisation. If the student has never played guitar the basics will be covered before he/she starts the music and style of their choice. This is not to say that a long period of time has to pass by before we tackle the music you will enjoy playing. On the first lesson you will learn an easy piece of music related to the style you like the most. I do emphasize music theory and reading as the student learns to play, regardless of the music style he/she chooses. Students can also learn to play by ear. Segovia, Paco de Lucia, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and all the great guitarist on every style of music from yesterday and today.

My guitar lessons take place in:

The teacher's studio, the student's home, Skype or pre-recorded video

Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:

7 days a week. Morning. afternoon or evening

Guitar Techniques:

Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment Selection.

I will provide the student with easy musical samples they can learn right away; melodies (according to age) they will instantly recognize. This approach has proven to be very effective. The student learns the basics while playing real music, making the whole process more enjoyable. The musical styles I teach on the guitar are: Classical, Flamenco, Brazilian, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Latin, Pop, Music theory, Harmony, etc. I do emphasize music theory and reading as the student learns to play the instrument regardless of the style they choose.

I teach students of every age and every level. Learning to play the guitar is not different than learning to play other musical instruments. The absolute beginner will go through a brief introductory stage to learn the peculiarities of how the instrument produces sound and the basics to make those sounds appealing to the ear. I will demostrate how to seat and how to hold the guitar. How to place the correct position of both hands. How to use a guitar tuner. New students with no previous guitar playing knowledge will learn on the first lesson the mechanics of moving the fingers effectively over the fret board and the basics of music reading.
