I have been teaching yoga for ten years and practicing for over thirty. I am certified Kripalu and also trained in Iyengar yoga for many years. Studying meditation and pranayama with Pat Byron, a master Yyengar teacher. I trained with Prem Shakti for aqua yoga, and I have been teaching for seven years at a senior community. I also have private classes during the season in the winter. Myclasses start with centering, connecting with the body through your breath. I teach different breath techniques and short meditations. I believe that coordinating the breath with the movements is yoga, and without that connection it is just an exercise.
Stretching is very important. Going through all the movements of the spine for flexibility before the postures. Allowing your body to guide you, and making sure that you don't hurt yourself by doing postures that you are not ready for. I teach that yoga is for everyone, and postures can be modified by using props for your expression of that posture. Yoga is not a competitive sport. Strengthening, flexibility, mindfulness, and many other benefits are associated with the practice of Yoga. The most important, an inward search, mind, body, and spirit.
I also introduce the Chakras, and associate the postures to the seven Chakras, bringing awareness to your practice.
I also work on the core and do postures that strengthen the core for better posture and being able to stay in the poses for longer holds without hurting your body.
I teach from the heart, allowing each student to progress at their own pace, understanding that we are all unique, and making sure that students understand the importance of honoring their bodies first.
The practice of Yoga is my passion.
I have developed a successful teaching technique that is supported by many years of training.
I enjoy teaching mat, aqua, and chair yoga, allowing me to meet a diverse group of people, and I particularly like teaching at communities, usually at the club house, or their pool for aqua yoga.
I have been teaching at one community for seven years and I have made friends with many of the students through the years, making it a pleasure to teach yoga.
My students always tell me that I am a great teacher because of the knowledge and the love that I have for yoga. I believe that with practice ,patience and perseverance any student can achieve their goals, and I will do anything in my power to help them.
My website is biancasyogaclass.com
