My name is Tiyan Alile, popularly called Chef T. I have enjoyed a passionate and pleasurable last 20 years being rewarded by the delight on my customers faces, cooking, operating award winning restaurants including Tarragon Lagos and running a culinary school, I was classically French trained at L’Academie de Cuisine in Maryland and have over the years deepened that experience in fusion, molecular gastronomy modern and avant-garde cooking.
I won the World Luxury Restaurant Award for Best Head Chef in Africa and my restaurant won Awards two years in a row for Best Fine Diningi and Food Styling & Presentation in Africa. I have been featured in Forbes, Cuisine Noir, BBC and many other platforms for my work as a Chef and Culinary Instructor.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is always a delight to teach someone something new or to help improve skills. I typically inquire on cooking history and abilities, I understand strengths and likes and taste profiles then curate tailor made classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been cooking professionally since 1999. I attended L'Academie de Cuisine and completed Advvanced Culinary Skills Classes. I founded and run The Culinary Academy for 9 years teaching Professional Diploma and Basic recreational classes in Cuisine and Pastry.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Cooking lessons are $150 per class where the student learns two items.
Baking lessons are $200 per class.
I can hold a maximum of 4 students in each class.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginners, intermediate and advanced. I have also handled professional training for start up restaurants.
