Gabriela Ortiz has been practicing yoga for about six years now. She is a recent graduate from Red Sun Yoga's 200 hour teacher training and has participated in numerous alignment workshops under the Anusara school of Yoga as well. Her teahing style fosters introspection and deep relaxation through a vigorous Asana practice followed by extended Savasana and Yoga Nidra tecniques.
Expect a flowing practice with longer holding times in the poses, which provide definition and strength in every muscle and emphasis on breathwork. Closing the practice with Yoga Nidra allows the body to integrate and release tension, stress, relieve mild depression and anxiety and provides students with moments of introspection.
Gabriela has a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography, has worked as a fitness kickboxing instructor for about 14 months and is incredibly passionate about biochemistry, fitness, health and each of her student's individual pursuit for happiness and wellbeing. She is also a blogger and photographer.
Gabriela is able to teach in English and Spanish and accomodates each student's specific needs. She is able to teach: Hatha Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Vinyasa and provide students with conditioning exercises for whatever goals they may have.
I believe self reflection is critical to the wellbeing of any person. When I am sharing my practice with a student, I aim to share the balance of strength and peace I feel when I am in a posture. To hold space for somebody is a sacred responsibility and I feel incredibly honored to do so for someone else.
