Maatruprema Yoga
About
I discovered yoga 17 years ago when I walked into a Bikram Yoga class. Finding the practice exhilarating, I continued to explore the depths and the realms of yoga. Within a few months of a regular practice, I began to notice the pain in my back from multiple injuries had subsided. My energy levels soared and my sleep became sound. There was a certain carefree demeanor I had adopted and soon thereafter became aware that yoga was essential to my well-being.
I have dedicated the last 17 years of my yoga practice to searching out different styles, various studios, and researching all aspects of yoga. I received my 230 RYT certification in Asheville, North Carolina at Asheville Yoga Center and am currently persuing my RYT-500. There, I truly fell in love with the practice of yoga and became determined to help others with their personal journeys to wellness.
Whether you are ridden with pain or wracked with stress, whether you seek enlightenment or just want to get in shape, I embrace the opportunity to help you discover your well-being through the comprehensive and infinite wisdom of yoga.
Helping others.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I normally begin with a consultation in order to discover the goals of my client's yoga journey. I asked about injuries, areas of pain, tingle, or numbness and then develop a lesson plan suited to my client's needs. After that, i tweak and reconstruct each lesson based on new discoveries, progress and preference. I am hands on in regards to alignment and stretching if the client is comfortable with adjistments and i seek to bring the whole yoga experience to my client from breath control to chakra worm
