My love for movement and physical fitness began at an early age as a ballerina. I studied dance throughout my childhood and into my young adult years when I also began teaching. In 2010 I attended my first Bikram yoga class and in 2013 began expanding my practice to include Hot Flow, Vinyasa and Power Yoga classes. Yoga fulfilled my need for movement as well as helped me to find strength from within. My practice has changed my life and has confirmed my passion to teach as well as be a guide for others down the path to physical, mental and spiritual growth.
RYT 200. I completed my 200hr certification with Foundations for the Mindful Teacher training in 2013.
My teaching style is a combination of physical and mental challenge. My teaching practice reflects my belief that we need to listen to our bodies and be kind to them by moving with intention. The goal is to provide a session that helps you disconnect from the world so that you can positively connect with your mind and body.
One of the best yoga classes I've ever attended.
I took a vinyasa hot flow yoga class with Katie and it was amazing!! She has a very calming nature and is so passionate about yoga, it was obvious in her teaching. She took time with each person in the class and encouraged us to challenge ourselves but also take care of ourselves. She also teaches private lessons and I would highly recommend to new and avid yogis looking to enhance their practice!!
Katie's Beginner Flow class at Kodawari has been amazing. It has developed my confidence in yoga and given me so much joy. Katie is a great teacher who truly cares about her students and uses quotes and inspirational passages to guide the student's journey. I look forward to her class each week!
