About this pro

I've known since I first picked up guitar back in high school that playing my heart out up on that stage is something that I will always want to do for the rest of my life. Playing guitar allowed me to take my passion for music and focus it in a way that would allow me to communicate and express my emotions and feelings through guitar. To this day, I'm still honing my skills and adding new techniques to my repertiore on the endless journey of music :-)

I know its important to have teachers, as even for one who taught himself, I still picked up so much from other players as well as through learning how to play cover songs and creating my own original music. If you wish to get started on the path to music...guitar is a great way of doing so! Lead, rhythm, singing, combination of all three are possible...as seen by such legends as SRV, Elvis, the Beatles (loved their harmonies most of all), Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash and so much more.

I've played in several bands over the years and have acquired many skills/techniques on the guitar for which I'm still perfecting myself over the past 15 years or so. I may not have certifications/accomplishments or awards that can show this, but my passion and feeling in the way that I play, no matter venue or the crowd speaks for itself...and when it comes to experience...I can definitely provide that, whether you just want to fiddle around with it, or take as far as it can go with or without a full band behind you...I can help.

One of the local Artists I play with currently is Stephen Ashley. Look us up on Youtube...you will find acoustic videos where I've accompanied him on original country tunes and added my spin upon with what he had already wrote. This will give you an idea of what I'm about. If you like what you hear, follow us! If you would like to reach out for lessons...I'm only a call/text away. Lets get you started on your musical Journey!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I work with the student to find out what they know, why they want to learn and where they want to go from here.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

20 years of playing music, and prior to that, a constant love for music that has kept me going through out my entire life since I was 5 and first learned about the Cars! Awesome classic rock band...phenomonal guitarist Elliot Easton is.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

$20-25/hour...can be negotiable depending on when/where/length.

How did you get started teaching?

Started giving out lessons here and there when asked. I get requests much more frequently now, and have started putting together a system for it, as I'm much more effective with teaching at 15 years into playing as opposed to 5.

What types of students have you worked with?

Friends, family, co workers, and other band mates. I get requests regularly from those with an interest after they see me play.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Watching Metallica for the first time live 21 years after they were formed. Its a long hard road if you want to rock n roll!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure you know the why's...because it is our reasons for playing that push musicians past their limits with every time they play, and there will be plateau's at times, and events which may occur, that will either keep you where you are at with no pontential growth, or cause you to give you because it got too hard or wasn't quick enough. This isn't an overnight deal, but if you are willing to put the time into it, you can start playing lead in less than half the time it took myself to.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What is the reason why you want to learn to play?

Are you willing to put the time and effort into this?

What are you wanting to accomplish through playing guitar?
