Bucky Teaches Guitar
About
Quite simply, I adore my students. I am blessed to be a career teacher. My mother was a high school English teacher, my brother teaches at a prep school in Hawaii, and my sister teaches ballet in Miami. I guess it runs in the family!
I am patient and kind, and I give my all to each and every student. Really. Because my students give so much back to me.
My training is in classical guitar and jazz, but I am a songwriter with three CD’s to my credit, and therefore play and teach many styles: folk, rock, pop, country blues, slide, fingerstyle, and country to name a few.
I’ve actually been teaching since I was 19, with a hiatus while I was in college.
You can listen to my music on iTunes. Look both under Angela Motter and Bucky Motter. My teaching website, buckyteachesguitar.com shows my google calendar and includes testimonials from a few of my students.
i also love working with songwriters.
I hope you’ll give me a shout and we can see if we are a good fit!
I enjoy meeting students and getting to know them. I enjoy encouraging them and witnessing them as they meet their goals and even go beyond.
I can’t imagine doing anything else with my energy, though I do play gigs now and then, too. I play solo as well as with my band Flat Cat.
Watching y’all improve and grow as musicians is so gratifying to me. I’m so proud of my students!

I have a degree in Classical Guitar Performance from Georgia State University. There I studied with John Sutherland, who was a student of Segovia.
I also studied jazz at GSU.
I teach many more styles besides classical and jazz. Country Blues, rock, pop, folk, country, fingerstyle and more. The only thing I can’t do is shred!
