What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with an introductory lesson and get you playing a song within an hour.
Next we develop basic skills using exercises and start to incorporate more songs,techniques and theory with every lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Qui-Ona Peterson is an Atlanta Institute of Music graduate of the Audio Engineering and Music Production program, with core curriculum in guitar and piano. Her very first instrument was the violin, which she picked up in 4th grade orchestra, gaining a love for classical music that would continue throughout her life. She has been playing guitar and keys since 2008, and gained her teaching experience while working for Hands On Atlanta and Outward Bound Atlanta, where she was a math and reading tutor and alternative education service leader. While there, Qui-Ona and her teammates instructed various after-school clubs at several schools around Atlanta for grades K-9, including guitar, chess, gardening, and math. Qui-Ona offers private guitar and piano lessons to students of all ages, and also has been active as a performer, playing R&B and Hip Hop and folks songs throughout the Atlanta area.

Standard Pricing is 50 per hr and 35 per 30 minute lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I started out teaching family members children along with children of families I nannied for back in 2010-2014.I continent to grow my roster to full time in August 2017 until current with room to add more.
What types of students have you worked with?
Beginner and intermediate guitar and piano students along with beginner vocal and ukulele students.

One of my students played and song Happy Birthday to me on my Birthday!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take your instrument with you as much as you can and make practice a part of your daily life!Most importantly have fun with it!
