Why Study with Me?
I am committed to helping my students stay motivated, structured, and continually progressing. Here are some of the unique benefits I offer:
Personalized Practice Plans: At the conclusion of each lesson, I send you a customized practice outline, keeping us both on the same page and ensuring your practice stays structured and productive.
Support Videos: Supplement your lessons with instructional videos tailored to your needs.
Mid-Week Check-Ins: Don’t wait until your next lesson to get help! If you have a question or aren’t sure you’re playing something correctly, send me a picture or short video for quick feedback to keep your momentum going.
Monthly Studio Meet-Ups: Beginning in Fall 2025 (or sooner if interest builds), I’ll be hosting group sessions where students can connect, share progress, and refine their skills in a supportive environment.
Teaching & Performance Excellence
With over 25 years of teaching experience, I have worked with more than 1,000 students in private and group settings, from beginners to advanced players. My approach is to meet you where you are in your musical and technical development, providing the guidance and support you need to achieve your goals while deepening your enjoyment and fulfillment of your musical journey.
As a faculty member at Georgia State University and Emory University, I played a pivotal role in expanding and elevating guitar programs—developing curriculum across multiple degree paths as well as creating the Master of Music in Classical Guitar at GSU. My students have gone on to earn university teaching positions, assistantships, and competition recognition, which has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career. it would be my honor to pass this expertise on to you.
Beyond teaching, I am an active performer, having played in solo and ensemble settings across the U.S., South American and Europe. My performance experience allows me to mentor students in developing confidence, expression, and technical precision for their own musical journeys.
Whether you’re looking to refine your technique, expand your fretboard knowledge, or explore diverse musical styles, I am committed to providing the guidance and support you need to reach the next level.
