With a degree in Music Performance, Film Composition & Orchestration, I cover all basis. My quality of arranging and guitar playing is nationally renown. I lead some of the most popular jazz & swing dance bands in the nation, and continue to do so.

I know exactly the right material to advance students rapidly with customized lesson plans and materials. I don't just use published texts, I write out specifice exercises and whatever else required. I have numerous college students playing a variety of instruments, taking theory and improvisation studies from me.

Pricing is based on current level and location (travel time).

I've already put in my 30+ years of work, so $ is not the prime concern. Although I have more to offer than 99% of music instructors, so I will receive a fee. No good instruction is free, and unfortunatly, many unqualified instructors are overcharging because too many clients don't know better.

I started giving guitar lessons in a local busy music store while still a college student. I had over 45 weekly students of all ages, and retained all of them due to my motivational skills.

From complete beginning to very advanced. The advanced students were more into arranging and improvisational studies rather than instrument technique.

Jazz at the Lincoln Center in NYC. I continue to follow jazz events, and I promote numerous shows monthly in the general region.

If a music 'teacher' is not out working the clubs or active in performance locally, their heart is not into the music and therefore, forget them.

If they are beginning students, not much. If the interest is already there, it is time to learn and have a fun time with learning as well.

Age has a lot to do with this. High school students may have more of an idea, but too many young local musicians may have some quick fingers, but miss the boat when performing with other musicians, or being able to play a tune with more than 3 or 4 chords.
