My satisfaction comes when the student can put the chords together to play a song, and sing, a song. That's exciting!
Getting people excited, motivated, and inspired.

Making them feel comfortable. Getting to know them by establishing a rapport, and by gaining confidence, I began to teach the student guitar fundamentals. Ex. Chords (major & minor), inversions, etc., etc. And away we go!
Been in training all my life, musically; basic fundamentals through high school (school choir, ensemble), music would have been my minor (Health & Physical Ed. my major) had I not left Tougaloo College. I was playing the guitar by then, and eager to learn more about mastering the instrument; and, even today, that is still my goal...
Depending on what is request and time required, the price range is $30-$40.00 a lesson. I'm open to establishing a budget plan.
It was early on in my musical career, while playing guitar and singing with a local vocal group, that I was asked to teach the guitar to our bass singer's son who, later on, became a well-known guitarist in and around the State of Louisiana. Everyone, affectionally, called him Fats.
As a 50-year member of The American Federation of Musicians & Canada (Baton Rouge and Chicago) I want to pass on my experience, knowledge, and techniques to those who aspire to play the guitar. More than that, I cannot add. Except that is my desire.
I am looking forwarded to working with, and teaching exclusively, students who have begun to play guitar lefthanded. BE AWARE!
I'm available to teach Lefthanded Guitar Players only! Although other special options will be considered.
I was contacted through my booking agent in December, right after moving back to Baton Rouge in October 2021, to perform one of my own compositions-"Everlasting Love (The Wedding Song)"-for an engagement proposal in New Orleans.
The man and his fiancee were flying in from Dallas, TX - I drove down to play and perform the song. It was a beautiful thing; the proposal. Sweet!
