Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students are urged to realize that learing an instrument requires dedication but at the same time can be a lot of fun. They will get out of it what they put into it. It's a great feeling of satisfaction to hear the music that you alone have produced.
Let's have fun with this and learn at the same time. We are not on a fxed schedule at all. We will learn at YOUR pace and it will be stress-free.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught guitar since 1970. I have taught all ages and levels of students. I know how to get people to apply themselves with successful results.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We charge $98 per month for half hour private lessons once a week in our studios. If your day falls a fifth time in a given month- whic will occur several times in a year that fifth lesson is FREE. WE have NO long term contracts - Just the month that you pay for on your first lesson of that given month.
How did you get started teaching?
I started showing other young people things that I knew how to play. A local coffee house owner met me at an open mic night and offered me a job teachng guitar.
What types of students have you worked with?
Many beginners of all ages. A lot of intermediates and some advanced. My specialty is beginners and getting them to get rapid results so they get excited about learning guitar.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A teacher needs to make adjustments to explain and show things to different people. Eveyone is different and learns differently. Cookie-cutter by the book metods are not the best way to go most of the time.
