Hi!
I'm a guitar and music production teacher based in Oak Park teaching beginner/novice/intermediate students. I don't use any books or explicit curricula, which lets the student move at their own pace and focus on what they're interested in.
I play regularly on the Chicago jazz scene as a sideman and bandleader, in addition to doing tracking for online clients and freelance music production.
I love watching the student's light up as they play ~that~ song or as the concept we've been working finally clicks. It's amazing watcing them grow! In addition, they help me grow too. I find students teaching me things about myself and my playing that I didn't know previously.

What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with mostly elementary/middle school students, but have and do work with high schoolers and adults.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't go with the teacher with the most experience or expertise, find the one that you/your child meshes with and learns the best from.
