About
For me, yoga is not just movement or exercise, it's a way of living. Yoga is a thousands-year old mental health practice that provides the tools you need to deal with being a human, which sometimes is pretty darn hard.
I've been teaching yoga locally for almost three years, but have been practicing self-study for over a decade. I've been fortunate to study with some of the best teachers, so I understand anatomy and functional movement, yoga philosophy, and pranayama (breath work). I am 500 hours certified in yoga, and have dual certifications in Reiki and Meditation training. I also work in hospice and was trained as a Death Doula from the University of Vermont, which continually teaches me about what is most important in life.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I love to connect with potential new clients. I'd love to chat over the phone, but email can work, too. In a free initial 20 minute phone consultation, you will let me know what your experience with movement or meditation is and what you're looking for. I can work with you for one class or together, we can set up a consistent schedule so we can work toward your personal goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a 500 hour certified yoga teacher by Yoga Alliance standards. I am also certified in Reiki and Meditation teaching.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
This depends on what is being looked for. Meditation only would be a different rate than a yoga session, which requires more planning. Whether you travel to me or I to you may also change the rate a bit.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching yoga after my own powerful years-long experience with yoga and its philosophy. Yoga taught me how to truly get present to my body and mind and through a consistent practice, I have built strength and flexbility- physically, mentally, and emotionally.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all level students either teaching classes that are more gentle and restorative, in a yin yoga style and I can teach to students who are looking to move faster, as in a power vinyasa flow, with more challenging poses. Usually I would want to assess your ability in one or two classes before introducing more challenging poses.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It's always a good idea to meet with any potential teacher first, even if on the phone, to sense if the match will be a good fit. A good teacher will spend most of your consultation time together getting to know you and learning more about your needs. Teachers will ideally address your anatomical needs, along with emotional and mental health support through breath and stillness.
