About
Six-time Boston Music Awards nominee, Adam Sherman was the voice of A&M recording artists Private Lightning and lead singer and songwriter of The Souls. To better his own artistry and voice, Adam began to study with respected coaches in New England. From vocal coach Merrill Shea, to NE Conservatory legend Ra-kalam Bob Moses, to attending a jazz vocal master class taught by the extraordinary singer/professor Shawnn Montiero, Adam learned the value and importance of honing one's craft. In 2010, he decided to take what he learned and teach others. He opened his home for voice, guitar, and songwriting lessons and has been teaching ever since!
As a vocalist, guitarist, performer, and songwriter, Adam Sherman teaches music with passion and imagination. His knowledge gained over thirty years of professional vocal/songwriting and guitar experience is shared openly with students. Adam encourages authenticity, confidence, and joy in his lessons by developing students' musical habits and techniques.
Adam offers instruction in all contemporary vocal styles including rock, pop, indie, blues, gospel and jazz. Guitar instruction focuses on the styles of folk, rock, pop, singer/songwriter, and electric. All lessons are personalized for each student, and any age and levels of experience are welcome!

How did you get started teaching?
My interest in jazz singing inspired me to attend a jazz vocal master class taught by the sought after performer/teacher Shawnn Montiero. I felt I had gained such valuable knowledge about performing and finding my voice that I decided to start teaching voice lessons at my own studio in Cambridge, MA. I've been teaching voice and guitar lessons for twelve years now.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types and ages. I have taught a wide age range of students who have all spanned from beginner to advanced.
