About
– I've created hundreds of online guitar lessons that I use as my primary teaching resource.
– I've taught for more than 10 years, and students have gone on to Berklee and write hit songs. However, I work with quite a lot of beginners as well.
– I teach in English and in Chinese (Mandarin)

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I do an evaluation to learn where you're at. This might take some extra time so I can get to know you and your goals. Then we make a plan together to reach those goals, ideally attaining some new benchmark within 4-8 weeks of study.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Graduate of Berklee College of Music, formally studied guitar pedagogy there, and also have returned as a guest lecturer to teach guitar instruction methodology.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The first lesson is free, after that I charge by each month. Each week has one lesson that must be attended at the designated time or it is forfeited. (In some cases, it is possible to reschedule but it must be within the same week). This ensures teacher-student have maximum commitment to lesson success.
What types of students have you worked with?
Professionals, students applying to music schools such as Berklee, amateur songwriters, and many more.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Try to remember that the teacher's time with you is limited, and if they're busy and in-demand that's even more so, so try to evaluate how well the teacher tunes in to your needs and how much commitment they have to being a teacher.
