Hello! Namasté! Yoga and meditation have been my touchstones for living life for over 20 years. Working with youth and famiies in social services settings, I chose to share these practices by pursuing a teaching path. A certified yoga teacher for 16 years, I've gone on to become a certified yoga therapist and Ayurvedic Consultant. (Ayurveda is the wholistic yogic approach to physical wellness and Yoga's sister science.) I'm able to guide you with breathwork (pranayama), asana (postures), philosophy, and meditation practices using approaches as diverse as vinyasa (a flowing asana practice), restorative (a healing practice), therapeutic yoga, and even chair yoga. For those who are in transition or seeking to break through habits and patterns that no longer serve, I offer supportive yoga therapy. With Ayurveda, I'm able to provide guidance about your personalized diet (not dieting!), as well as daily and seasonal self-care for wellness. In short, this is yoga wrap-around, like an embrace.
"Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life." Don't know who said that (apologies), but there I am. Guiding people in their new or continuing practice of yoga feels like an honor and a joy to me, all of it. Witnessing the moment when you gather your courage to try a new way to care for yourself; when you fall out of balance and try again; when you awaken to something unknown or deeper about yourself; when you experience ease and flow where you could not before, or you become aware of a new sense of balance in body and mind - those are among some of the most personally gratifying moments to me as teacher.
