Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to have a conversation get to know the student and their goals and depending on their goals and priorities, put together a path for them to succeed.
I like giving weekly exercises so they can practice at home and improve and I use google classroom to organize all the material.
Every two weeks I check with the student to make sure that they are still happy and motivated and if for any reason they are not feeling that they are progressing or they are not happy with the rhythm of the class and want to advance faster I can always change the path so we can be both be motivated and entusiastic.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Well I Studied computer science and I taught coding at the university, so I have experience teaching, and while I was getting my degree I kept playing live music and recording albums with my bands and projects, so I feel that I have experience in both worlds.
Guitar for me is everything I used to practice between 4 to 6 hours daily that's what helped me to get to the level that I have today and in that process of learning I was also teaching my friends and doing workshops about guitar that was when I was 14 years old after that, I took guitar even more seriously and I had private classes with a teacher until I was 19 years old those classes and time help me a lot to undertand music and apply it to my projects, I'm fortunate enough that I discover my passion when I was young and now I can motivate and transmit that knowledge to other people.

How did you get started teaching?
When I was 15 years old I went to a few free guitar lessons, and at that point, I was good enough at guitar, that the teacher made me his helper because there were too many students, since then I kept teaching friends and people that were interested in getting playing guitar, in the meantime I was taking private classes and improving myself to be a better teaching and also guitar player.
teaching for me it's been always a joy, I love sharing knowledge and learning new topics too and my parents told me that when I was in fourth grade I told them that I wanted to be a music teacher, and here I am doing what I love the most.
What types of students have you worked with?
I worked with students that have some base and knowledge on guitar or other instruments and the learning curve is a lot smoother we progress fast and steady.
I also worked with students that was their first time grabbing a musical instrument and it's my favorite because their excitement and energy to learn new stuff bring me joy and reminds me of myself when I was just starting.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell them to make sure that the teacher listens to you and that he is passionate about what he does because I had teachers that they would be looking at the clock the whole class because they had another student coming after me, I am not one of those guys I give you 100% of my time and if we need to stay a few minutes later that totally fine!
