Keith Streff Guitar Lessons
About
My teaching approach:
I am geared towards finding the students learning style. I want someone to enjoy playing guitar with me, not for me. Each lesson is a new day, with a new set of circumstances, so I am not a very rigid instructor. Firm but fair.
My influences are:
I like most music. I try to stay current, and am open to most suggestions. The Beatles, Frank Zappa, Nirvana, Filomena Moretti, Chopin, Bach
My guitar lessons take place in:
The student's home
Guitar Lessons with me take place in the following areas:
I have taught private lessons at the students' home in and around the St Paul area for two years.
Guitar Techniques:
Rhythm guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Guidance In Equipment Selection
Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
I ask-"Why do you want to play the guitar? What do you like about it?" Depending on capability, I may ask to play your favorite song, or piece.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
Greeting Introduction/settling in Recap of previous lesson. Going forward with current lesson Directions for the week/ until next lesson Farewell
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
Someone who loves to play and isn't afraid to make a mistake. A person who asks a lot of questions.
